iPokédex. Now one year.

iPokédex as it is on my phoneHey everyone.

I almost missed this, but thankfully I was somehow reminded of it last Friday.

As of the instant this blog post was published, iPokédex has officially been offline for precisely a year now. Wow. That was fast.

I thought I’d just quickly say, thanks again for all of the support everyone has given me. It was thanks to all of this kind feedback that made me think it was something worth pursuing.
(Also, even though it’s taken down, please stop asking for an Android version! XD )

I can’t really say anything for certain right now, but thanks to my trip to GDC earlier this year, iPokédex making a comeback isn’t fully off the table at this point. And as such, I haven’t given up. :)

However, there’s nothing I can do about it in the immediate present, so right now, I’m continuing my work with iComics. :)

In any case, fingers are still crossed! Don’t give up hope! :)

    is there any chance of getting it ‘tested’ it in a.. *ahem*… beta version via testflight? you know… not actually releasing it (and therefore not violating specific requirements of copyright and licensing)… *wink* *nudge* hypothetically of course!

    Unfortunatly, as mentioned in your post in November of last year, Nintendo in fact did make a pokédex for iOS. Hopefully, though that still won’t stop you from re-releasing yours in the future, as it’s better for players of the game and is a heck of a lot cheaper.

      Wait. Last year? It was November of this year. (Unless you meant the Pokédex app for 3DS?)

      In any case, yeah, I was made aware of that by a few people haha.

      It is rather curious though. It was made by Creatures Inc and released by the Pokémon Company Japan; all of which are actually completely separate from the Pokémon branch I’ve been in touch with regarding iPokédex (The international one in America). And the way it’s been explained to me, these branches are pretty independent of each other.

      Either way, I hope so too. I haven’t heard any official word myself on whether this changes anything (I would like to think it doesn’t, but I get the feeling that’s a bit doubtful), but I’ll keep enquiring until I get final confirmation. :)
